πŸŒ™ Finding Inspiration πŸŒ™

 log entry #4

Finding inspiration can be challenging especially when it is easy to succumb to mind fog and life’s daily distractions. For this post, I will discuss ways to find inspiration and maintaining it for longer periods of time.

http://1. First, the important thing is to create space in your schedule for your craft and sharpen your skills. Try to work with your mind’s natural rhythms, rather than against them. Everyone gets inspired differently so I will be listing some general ideas. (1) Going on a walk through nature may sound like a cliche or completely useless but when we are away from distractions at home this can allow our minds to wander and generate some remarkable insights. We can apply our thoughts and feelings to the art we create. (2) Study works by other artists to develop your own style and voice. (3) Share your creative process and works with others ! (4) Practice with others in a space that facilitates creative expression. (5) Challenge yourself by setting up daily goals or creating something you have not done before.
2. What to do we this does not work?
Like many emotions, inspiration is a construct so it is difficult to discover what exactly makes us inspired. Thus, it is important to practice and still put in the work to create art even in periods of non-inspiration so that you have the skills you need to actually translate that when inspiration does come.

3. The best method of keeping inspiration is to create a daily routine. By doing this, it becomes a necessary habit and you will produce not only more work but also higher quality. Many people struggle with feelings that their art is not seen or appreciated. Thus, it is crucial to put our work out into the world. Through this, we can receive an income that will further motivate us to create more. Furthermore, I have found that making art for a purpose has incredibly inspired me. Currently, I am motivated to create art that can advocate for others. I also want to learn how to design prosthetics by combing art and STEM.
