♡ The Power of Art Therapy ♡

log entry #3

In this post, I will discuss how art therapy is used as an incredibly useful tool with healing effects in psychotherapy and counseling. This type of therapy has become a language that allows people to communicate their emotions and thoughts that may be painful to express in words. The goal is to support, maintain, and improve the cognitive and physical health of patients through a creative process.

 Who provides art therapy?
Licensed, trained professionals with exceptional knowledge of the arts and cognitive development offer counseling services. It is incredibly effective because the patient does not require any experience or special talent and they will never be criticized or judged for their artistic abilities.

✿ What are the benefits to art therapy?
Art therapy can positively benefit people of all ages who seek improvement and are willing to learn more about themselves. Teens especially benefit from this type of therapy because it allows them to develop an understanding of their voice, create their identity, and provides guidance in a therapeutic environment. Most importantly, it fosters a feeling of being understood while relieving built-up frustration in a world that is constantly changing.
